Stony Hill Stables is a premier hunter/jumper training and lesson facility located in the Hamptons. Our facility is on 10 acres and features state-of-the-art amenities including five indoor and outdoor riding arenas, professionally designed jump courses, regulation sized dressage arena, luscious grass paddocks, custom climate controlled tack room, and a 21 stall barn.

Summer instructor

Stony Hill Stables, located in the Hamptons and operating for 60+ years, seeks a riding instructor/light horse care manager to join our established, active lesson program. This is a summer position starting June 2025 through the first week of September 2025 (There is the opportunity to continue on in September as Instructor and Managing Director of the Riding School).

Expectations include teaching a combination of private, group, and camp lessons to students of various ages and abilities on a wonderful selection of school horses as well as overseeing the school horse herd in conjunction with our grooms. The candidate will also be responsible for attending 3-5 horse shows with several students over the course of the summer. 

​

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching children and adults of beginning and intermediate levels. A confident, enthusiastic approach toward students to help foster the love of horses is a must. Applicants must be outgoing and work well with peers and other staff. We are a team-oriented, positive, and supportive work environment with competitive pay.

Benefits include a $1250-1,500.00/week salary and a housing stipend. In addition, a $1,000.00 bonus will be paid upon completion of the contract term.
